Methodology
The program is designed to offer three levels for students to progress through specific milestones. The levels have been designed to fulfill individual obligations (farḍ al-‘ayn) according to Islamic jurisprudence.
Throughout your journey as a student you will experience commitment from the administration and instructors with detailed focus on organization and communication.
Our Sanad and Ijazah
The ijazah and sanad in Qurʾān is a highly esteemed certification within the Islamic scholarly tradition, signifying not merely the mastery of Qurʾānic recitation and memorization, but also the profound responsibility to transmit this sacred knowledge with unwavering precision.
To receive such an honor is to be woven into an unbroken chain (sanad) of transmission that stretches across centuries, linking the bearer directly to the Prophet Muhammad صل الله عليه وسلم.

Our leadership has received several ijazat and training from Shaykh Mahmoud al-Akkawi, world-renowned Scholar of Qirāʼāt and the Shaykh of Qirāʼāt of Lebanon. Having mastered its every letter and cadence under the tutelage of their predecessors, each are authoritative custodians of the Qurʾān. Through this meticulously preserved lineage, the authenticity, purity, and exactness of the Qurʾānic text and its recitation are safeguarded from alteration.
More than a certificate, the ijazah and sanad is a living testament to the continuity of Islamic knowledge—a luminous thread of scholarship and devotion binding past to present, ensuring that the divine words revealed fourteen centuries ago are conveyed today with the same integrity and beauty as they were first received.

Recitation Labs
Level One
Reading and Recitation Fluency
This program is designed for students to:
- Learn how to “read” from the muṣḥaf or to recite a page in 7 minutes.
Students will be required to meet the following goals:
- Reading: be able to recite/read a page under 7 minutes with Tajwid Level I application
- Tajwid*: learn level I tajwid rules of Makharij (origination of the sounds of each letter) and al-Sifat al-Lazimah (innate qualities of letters)
- Memorization: recite al-Fatihah and the last ten surahs with Tajwid Level I application
Level Two
Reading and Recitation Proficiency
This program is designed for students to:
- Be able to recite the Qurʾān with the general rules of Tajwīd.
- Fulfill the sunnah of reciting the entire Quran to the instructor.
Students will be required to meet the following goals:
- Reading: be able to recite/read a page within 3-5 minutes with Tajwid Level II application
- Tajwid: learn level II tajwid rules of al-Sifat al-‘Aridah (temporary qualities)
- Memorization: Memorize and recite the last twenty surahs with Tajwid Level II application
Level Three
Quran Memorization and Review
The prerequisite to the memorization of the Quran is the completion of Level II of the program or equivalent through an assessment.
Global Recitation Program offers full-time online classes or part-time recitation labs to support students memorizing the Quran in a structured and organized format.
*Tajwīd are the concepts and rules to recite the Qurʾān in the manner it was recited by the Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam, which is necessary for every Muslim.

FAQ’s
How do I join the program?
Fill out our application form and we will create an intake meeting with our administration. Students will begin their journey with an assessment to be placed one of three levels in the Program. Each level of studies requires an assessment for acceptance into the next level of studies.
How do I begin memorizing the Qur’an with the Global Recitation Program?
Students aspiring to memorize the Quran will be required to complete Level Two of the program. Students may seek ijazah in qira’at once the Quran has been memorized in level three (as an online part-time or full-time student).
